The original House Ale first brewed in 1964 by Peter Maxwell Stuart, 20th Laird of Traquair in the 300 year old brewery at Traquair.
Deep reddish-amber/brown in colour; full, velvet-like body; medium dry and powerful, with an earthy hint of peat character. Malt flavours and fruity finish show a subtle hint of fermentation in wooden vessels.
